Year: 2023
The Sailor Studio had the challenging opportunity to collaborate with Tiger in the production of a Fake Out-of-home (FOOH), integrating computer graphics and live-action capture. The video features the renowned skateboarder Dexter Ricardo heading towards the SLS event, sponsored by Tiger beer. The twist occurs when a Tiger, the brand's symbol, emerges on the scene, created in computer graphics, running alongside the skateboarder towards the event.
We faced a significant challenge in CGI and VFX to ensure that the Tiger appeared as realistic as possible. The visual development (Look Dev) and rendering of the animal's fur presented a significant challenge, requiring seamless integration with the real scene to provide an authentic visual experience.
To overcome these challenges, our dedicated team focused on the meticulous execution of the Tiger in computer graphics. We worked diligently to ensure textures and movement close to reality, specifically tackling challenges related to Look Dev and fur rendering. The integration with the real scene was carefully crafted to achieve a realistic fusion between the virtual and physical worlds. Taking meticulous precautions during the capture of real images, we ensured an environment conducive to smooth 3D scene tracking. We captured HDRI 360 images of the real environment for more effective integration of computer graphics with live action. Additionally, we dedicated significant efforts to enhance the sound, creating immersive sound effects that amplified the Tiger's presence, making it even more lifelike.
The audience response was exceptional. The video was widely shared on social media, gaining prominence especially on skateboarder Dexter Ricardo's channels. Engagement was notable, with the audience praising the convincing presence of the Tiger on the scene. The video's display on the event screen added an extra dimension to the campaign, solidifying its impactful presence.
