In the 1980s, the Dungeons & Dragons animated series became a huge hit across Latin America, but it was abruptly canceled without a final episode, leaving an entire generation of fans without closure. For decades, theories, fanfics, and discussions tried to imagine what happened to the heroes.
To launch a new line of action figures based on the original series, Hasbro created The Lost Episode: a 15-minute stop-motion film built from real fan theories gathered through social listening. Directed and released alongside Jovem Nerd during Comic Con, the project finally gave fans the ending they had been waiting for for decades. Sailor Studio was responsible for producing the campaign’s case study film, which won a Cannes Lions Gold Award in the Entertainment category, along with several other international awards.
